The CLEAR Study
Do you have a history of Heart Disease and are unable to tolerate statins?
Synexus is looking for volunteers to take part in a research study for Heart Disease. Heart Disease describes a range of conditions that affect your heart. The objective of the research study is to evaluate the effects of an investigational medication to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in individuals with, or at high risk of developing heart disease who have been unsuccessful on statin therapy due to side effects. Current statin therapy includes Simvastatin, Rosuvastatin and Atorvastatin. Statin intolerance is described as the inability to tolerate statins due to side effects (e.g. severe leg cramp) that resolved when you stopped taking the statin.
You may be at risk of heart disease if you have:
- Had a heart attack
- Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes (Men older than 65 and women older than 60 years of age)
- High cholesterol
- Had a coronary artery bypass
- Peripheral Arterial Disease
Male and Female
High cholesterol Statin intolerant with heart disease or high risk of heart disease
