Independent Research Partners: How we work
It’s easy for doctors to help us.
We realise that not all doctors and other healthcare professionals are able to commit the time and resource to conduct clinical studies but that you want to give your patients access to the benefits of participating in clinical research.
That’s why Synexus makes it as easy as possible for you to help us find suitable patient volunteers.
We all benefit from our relationship.
We focus on developing mutually beneficial relationships with healthcare professionals so that your patients can gain access to clinical research without you having to spend time managing the study. Your patients benefit from increased medical care and potential relief from their conditions. The conduct of the study is not the responsibility of the patient’s treating physician, so the impact it has on the workload of your surgery is kept to a minimum. With your cooperation we really are able to move medicine forward.
The process is simple
Through our years of experience we have continually refined our processes in working with our Independent GP Research Partners.
Synexus is commissioned to deliver a new clinical study and obtains all appropriate ethical approval.
Synexus Patient Engagement Team supplies the IRP practice with information about trial requirements and with contact details.
Literature supplied invites patients to contact Synexus should they be interested in participating.
Patient choice is integral to the process. After all it is the patient who decides to contact Synexus directly should they be interested in study participation
If a patient is accepted onto the study, we will ask you to confirm your patient’s medical background and you will be compensated for your time for doing this.
Any relevant test results are communicated with the GP practice.
